There are many ways to reduce energy use, from the very simple changes we can make at home and in the office, to more complex changes that may require some time and money but can bring you much bigger returns. We know these changes often happen when Virginians work together, tell their neighbors and co-workers about the things they are doing at home and work to save energy, and offer tips from their own experiences. We can help you get started with the materials on this website – and tell others where they can go to learn more too.

If you are interested in doing more, we are looking for people to reach out to others in their communities – neighbors, businesses, places of worship, local events – to talk to fellow Virginians about saving energy. To learn how your business, organization or school can join us as a Virginia Energy Sense partner, contact us using the form below. You can also see who is helping spread the word in your area.

Again, the most important thing you can do is to take some of the steps we outline on this website and then tell others about what you've done and why.

Sign up to take action, then select the boxes below.

Instructions: Fill out the form below with the required information. Be sure to carefully check your email address as an activation code will be sent to that address.

Saving 10% of our energy — with some smart steps, it’s an easy goal we all can achieve. Help us spread the word. This begins with simply talking to the people already in your life like family members, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Encourage others to make the simple changes first – installing smart thermostats, putting appliances and electronics on power strips to more easily shut off when not in use, changing to CFL light bulbs and just being more aware of how you use energy.

Ready to do your part and be a smarter energy consumer? Sign up now and pledge to take the 10% energy challenge: I pledge to understand my energy bill better and help my family, friends and other Virginians do the same. From changing light bulbs and turning off electronics while not in use, to conducting an energy assessment and purchasing more energy efficient products, I pledge to take steps where I can – at home, school and work – to reduce the amount of energy I consume.

Check this box to receive periodic updates from Virginia Energy Sense and our progress toward the 10% goal. We promise not to flood your inbox or share your email with marketers*. We will send you useful tips, interesting news and invitations to events in your area where you can join us.
