Tell us a little about LEAP.
LEAP is a Charlottesville-based grassroots energy efficiency initiative that helps income-and-age qualifying families obtain free home energy upgrades. These upgrades usually consist of weatherization improvements that can make the home more comfortable and more sustainable, from adding insulation to replacing HVAC systems. It results in a more comfortable and affordable quality of life in the home for residents, with reduced costs in utilities.
How does LEAP help Virginians reduce their energy consumption?
LEAP provides energy assessments to residents who are curious about the efficiency of their home. We provide the homeowner with a report of our findings and are able to perform the needed improvements often at no cost to the resident.
What are some ways LEAP works locally to embrace energy efficiency?
We consistently have ongoing partnerships with the City of Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and like minded organizations throughout the state to ensure energy affordability resources are as accessible as possible.
