Incentives and Rebates
Federal, state, and energy provider incentives can help Virginia residents and businesses offset the costs of purchasing and installing energy-efficiency upgrades and equipment. In addition, federal incentives may allow you to lower your federal income tax payment. Please note that federal tax incentives paid through credits on your annual federal tax filings will require using the Internal Revenue Service’s most up-to-date forms. Virginia Natural Gas – High-Efficiency Tankless Water Heater Rebate
Virginia Natural Gas offers a $150 rebate on the purchase and installation of a tankless natural gas water heater with a uniform energy factor of 0.87–0.929 or a $200 rebate on the purchase and installation of a tankless natural gas water heater with a uniform energy factor of 0.93 or greater.
Qualifications:
The rebate is available to active residential Virginia Natural Gas customers. The offer is good only on purchases for remodeling or renovation to preexisting homes, condominiums, or town houses in the Virginia Natural Gas service territory. The offer is not valid on new construction. All equipment purchased must be installed by a licensed contractor.

Washington Gas – ENERGY STAR Certified Smart Thermostat Rebate
Washington Gas offers a rebate of $50 on the purchase and installation of an ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostat.
Qualifications:
The rebate is available to Virginia Washington Gas customers.
How To Enroll:
To apply for a smart thermostat rebate, purchase a qualifying thermostat from any retailer and submit the online application.

Virginia Natural Gas – Smart Thermostat Rebate
Virginia Natural Gas offers a $50 rebate on the purchase and installation of a Wi–Fi–enabled smart thermostat.
Qualifications:
The rebate is available to active residential Virginia Natural Gas customers. The offer is good only on purchases for remodeling or renovation to preexisting homes, condominiums, or town houses in the Virginia Natural Gas service territory. The offer is not valid on new construction.
